Province Overview Province Overview In this Module discover the main features of the province including demographics, geography, climate, economy and infrastructure. Also meet the main cultural groups.
Historical Overview Historical Overview In this module we trace the origins of humans, untill present day Mpumalanga.
Nature and Conservation Nature and Conservation In the first component of this module, the student explores the conservation areas in the province. It also includes an introduction to the Southern Kruger National Park. The second component supplies more detail on the different regions within Southern Kruger.
Cosmos Region Cosmos Region In this module, the student discover this region that are famous for its fields of cosmos in late summer and the fact that it supply most of the energy to Southern Africa.
Grassland and Wetlands Grassland and Wetlands This region offers a combination high plateau, mountainous grassland, pans, marshes and lakes. Chrissiesmeer, Wakkerstroom and Badplaas are some of the popular destinations. Three National roads meet at Ermelo, linking the town with Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal, Central Mpumalanga and Swaziland.
Cultural Heartland Cultural Heartland As the name indicates, the area is rich in cultural heritage. We visit the Botshabelo village and other sites of interest relating to the Ndebele. We also take a look at the “Coal” and “Stainless Steel” Capitals of South Africa and then relax at the Loskop Dam and other recreational facilities in the region.
Highlands Meander Highlands Meander In this module, we explore the Highlands Meander, situated between the Cultural Heartland and the Panorama region. Famed for its tulips, trout fishing, clay masks; temporary seat of the fleeing Transvaal government and cliffs and ravines for the more adventurers.
Lowveld Legogote Lowveld Legogote The routes in this module, takes us past the last place where President Paul Kruger stayed on his way to Europe, one of the largest paper mills, a town famous for its wild horses, the capital of Mpumalanga and the Sudwala caves
Wild Frontier Wild Frontier In this module, we travel back in time to the hey days of the gold rush, we meet the most famous dog in the Lowveld, discover some geological wonders, drive along sugar plantations to enter the Kruger Park or cross the border at Mozambique.
Panorama Route Panorama Route In this module, we travel along the Great Escarpment, situated between the Highveld and the Lowveld below, offering spectacular views. We also drive through some of the largest manmade pine and bluegum forests in the world. Apart from its natural beauty, the region also has a lot to tell about the discovery of gold and the consequent gold rushes that followed.
