General Overview General Overview A brief overview of the main features of the province, the coat of arms, demographics, politics, topography and geography, climate, economy and infrastructure. General map and route orientation are also included.
Cultural Overview Cultural Overview A look at the Zulu people and their culture.
Historical Overview Historical Overview The history of the province is presented from the early inhabitants, the Iron Age, European and Indian arrivals, the many battles fought here and finally, the heroes of the struggle.
The Battlefields The Battlefields In this module, we discover the turmoil and battles that where fought in this area. This includes conflict between the Voortrekker and Zulus, the Anglo-Zulu war and the two Anglo-Boer Wars, as well as the first rebellion for freedom.
Drakensberg Region Drakensberg Region The World Heritage Site, the Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg Park is covered in this module, as well as different picturesque towns situated in the region.
Midlands Midlands Pietermaritzburg, capital of KwaZulu-Natal, is the main focus in this region. Other interesting topics include: the history of the trout and wattle industry in the province, the place where the first alleged flight took place and where President Nelson Mandela was captured, leading to his life-long sentence after the Rivonia trials.
Durban and surrounds Durban and surrounds Officially known as the Ethekwini metropole, it does not only offer the vibrant life of Durban and sunny, golden beaches, but also has deep historical and cultural roots.
South Coast and Griqualand East South Coast and Griqualand East In this module we explore the holiday resorts and attractions along the South coast. We follow the N2 inland to visit Oribi Gorge and finally, reaching Griqualand east, where soon after, the road crosses the border to the Eastern Cape.
North Coast North Coast We drive past rolling, green hills with sugar cane and popular holiday destitnations. The region is also steep in the history of the Zulu, especially those that surround King Shaka and more recently, that of Nobel price winner, Albert Luthuli.
Zululand Zululand This Module enters the heart of Zulu history. Highlights included the alleged origin place of the Zulu, Valley of the Kings, Royal Residences, and the legendary King Shaka
Maputaland Maputaland In this component, we pass by Gingindlovu, site of Cetswayo’s kraal, the cultural village of Shakaland, the Valley of the Kings and the previous legislative capital of KwaZulu-Natal
