Component In this component the student discover the origins of the Vaal River , the hot springs at Badplaas, as well as one of the largest fresh water lakes in South Africa, Chrissiesmeer. The region was also the scene of a gold rush and the ghost town of Steynsdorp, bears evidence of this. Other towns included are Morgenzon, Breyton, Carolina, Bonnefoi and Lothair/Lochiel.
