Provincial Requirements
- The prospecting Tourist Guide need to have practical knowledge of the cities, towns, attractions, sites and routes where he/ she will be conducting tours in the future.
- To comply with the minimum requirements for this purpose you will have to visit all the sites listed for each province below and submit the necessary evidence.
- Practical can be arranged with Makiti Guides & Tours in Gauteng.
- For other provinces you are required to visit the places on your own or contact Makiti GT for itinerary support and student discounts.
* The following evidence is required:
- Signed confirmation by local guides at the respective sites confirming that you have completed the practical.
- Entrance tickets to attractions and sites visited.
- Notes (see stipulated topics)
- Hand drawn maps
- Photos / Video material
- Sworn declaration of places visited in the Province (the list must be compiled by you).
** RPL (Recognition for Prior Learning)
- Letter from Tour Operator stating that you have been guiding in the province.
- Evidence 2-6 above (evidence should not be older than 12 months).
