Guide Qualification


The Further Education and Training Certificate: Tourist guiding NQF Level 4 (71549) is a pre-requisite to register as a Provincial culture guide.

It is offered in two courses equipping candidates with the relevant skills and knowhow in all aspects of cultural tourist guiding.
  • Basics of guiding
    • Research, plan, design, and conduct a walking tour
    • Acquire knowledge about South Africa
  • Advanced guiding
    • Research, plan, design and conduct a driving tour (including city orientation tour, transfers, meet-and-greet, hotel procedures, and managing groups on overland trips)
    • In depth provincial knowledge.
